I hate the Jedi Order because …

firstorderforceuser:

A partial list of grievances:

-they take children from their families, with parental consent optional and the child’s opinion on the matter completely ignored.

-they teach that your emotional state while acting determines the morality of your actions, and that acting on strong emotions will eventually, necessarily, make you evil.

-they see absolutely no problem with leading a slave army bred to die for a society that does not even see them as people.

-they play mind games with their own–impossible tests, incomprehensible non-lessons, pushing people to breaking point and then castigating them for snapping.

-they are apathetic in the face of widespread evil and yet claim the moral high ground over those who do something about it.

-they teach abstinence-only when it comes to emotional attachments and wounds: they provide no support for those who fail to uphold their impossible standards, or even simply those who need help dealing with their grief or trauma.

-their washouts are effectively used as agricultural slave labor.

-they dismiss any philosophy, creed, or school of thought that disagrees with them as corrupted by the dark side and therefore dangerous.

-they find altering the thoughts, memories, or personalities of sentient beings to be perfectly acceptable because it is a “nonviolent” solution.

-they refuse to compromise even in the face of overwhelming evidence, need, or extenuating circumstances.

-their Code is a goddamn travesty.

-they are a gaggle of myopic hidebound sanctimonious reactionary jackasses who have no right to dictate the terms of morality in their own or any other universe, and yet, practically since its inception, have been the defining measure of goodness in the galaxy far, far away.
